Intro:

Over the past few years, I went from sitting on the sidelines (a.k.a. my couch) to finishing 5k's, 10k's, a half marathon, and triathlon relay. More recently, I've begun changing my focus to CrossFit workouts and fitting in a few runs here and there!

Along the way I've managed to lose a total of 40 lbs! Join me on my journey to keep pushing forward while maintaining a healthy and fit lifestyle.

Look at what I did last night! (Half Marathon registration!)

Last night I registered for my second half marathon!
RNR USA!
March 17, 2012

Some of you already know I ran the relay of this same event (before RNR took over) earlier this year and really enjoyed the course and the fact that it was local. Oh, and the fact that I ran the 5 miles non-stop! ;)

To add to that, some of you already know that I have also completed my first ever half last September (another RNR event) in VA Beach with a finish time of 3:19.

The exciting thing about this second half marathon is that no matter what, I am going to PR

Here's why:
  • I'm almost 30lbs lighter than I was during my last half
  • My endurance has improved significantly in the past 8 months
  • I PR'd my 5k time earlier this year by almost 6 minutes
  • and while I haven't run an officially timed 10k, I know I can finish one way over 10 minutes faster than my first 10k.
  • Overall, I just feel better both physically and mentally about this half...
For the next few weeks I'm going to focus on riding and preparing for the Iron Girl triathlon relay. Then after that, I'll refocus my effort towards base running and researching training plans. :)

Yay! So excited!
